Position: Human Resource Officer/Assistant HR

Reports to: HR Manager.

Purpose of the position:

The Human Resource Officer is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which are recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, employee counseling and provide advice and assistance to managers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Human resources best practices
  • Provide assistance with writing job descriptions
  • Organize staff training sessions workshops and activities
  • Ensure that employee files are maintained up to date
  1. Staff performance and attendance.
  • Monitor daily attendance and generate a daily report on the same
  • Provide basic counseling to staff with performance related obstacles
  • Recommend solutions to resolve chronic attendance difficulties
  1. Employee recruitment process
  • Prepare notices and advertisement for vacant staff positions
  • Schedule ,organize and participate in applicants  interviews
  1. Administrative duties like explaining of personnel policy and management of outsourced services.


  1. Higher diploma (HR Option)
  2. TWO years experience working in the same position.
  3. MUST demonstrate: supervisory, team building, verbal and listening communication, time management, interviewing, computer and negotiation skills.
  4. MUST be respectful, flexible and maintain standard of conduct.
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Navision is an added advantage.

Position: Health & Safety Officer

Reports to: HR Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification: Bachelors in Environmental Sciences or a diploma in Environmental Science

Experience.  Minimum 1 year in flower industry, knowledge of Fair-trade standards, global gap, KFC, MPS.

  • Experience in conducting safety audits,
  • Willing learner, industrious, honest, team player, report writing and good communication skills.
  • IT literate will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent English language skills;

Key Responsibilities

  • Is in charge of standards in the company and spearheads various audits e.g. MPS, GLOBAL GAP, KFC, etc.
  • Assist the HRM in the implementation of the Environmental Health and Safety function (HSE) to ensure the company’s compliance to various flower standards used to audit the company.
  • Ensure annual licenses and memberships are renewed in time before expiry and no fines are levied against the company.
  • In charge of all HSE issues in the company including ensuring staff are issued with proper PPE’s. Ensure Safety standards are adhered to in the company.
  • In charge of staff induction and training on company code of conduct and Safety Standards including company HR policies.
  • Assist the HRM in the organisation and implementation of staff training programs and to coordinate communication to NITA/ DIT
